New Project Checklist

Before we get started, let’s go over a few things.

 Prior to your roof replacement

  • Protect Your Things

Lawn decor, flags, patio furniture, grills, solar lights in the ground, personal items, etc. should be moved at least 10 feet away from the house.

  • Move Your Car

Vehicles should be moved from the driveway/out of the attached garage the night before or before 7 am on the day your project begins

  • Mow Your Lawn

If possible, have the lawn mowed a day or two prior to installation.
This makes the clean-up process much easier & helps us ensure we can run our rolling magnet to get all nails from the lawn.

  • Open Your Gates

Ensure all gates are left open or unlocked so we have access to lay tarps around the property & for proper clean-up.

  • Turn Off Sprinklers

If you have a lawn irrigation system, please turn off the water sprinklers on the day(s) of your installation.

  • Clear Your Walls Inside

The removal of shingles and loading of shingles may disrupt items hanging on your walls. We suggest homeowners consider removing unstable pictures, photos, and paintings from their interior walls.

  • Heads Up: We’re Noisy!

The noise inside the home will be loud during the installation process. This may be disruptive to those working from home or with small children.

  • Mind Your Pets

Consider making arrangements for any inside or outside pets to stay inside on the day of the installation or be boarded. If pets need to be let out during the day, please communicate that with us so we can ensure everyone's safety.

  • Please Be Careful

Remind everyone in the home to be extremely careful entering and exiting your property. If you do need to enter/exit it is highly recommended to wear close-toed shoes.

  • Outside Outlet Usage

We may need access to an outside electrical source. Please make sure yours is in working condition or let us know beforehand if there is any problem so we can plan accordingly.

  • Treasures in the Attic?

If you have an attic, we suggest covering items of value with a tarp. Shingle granules or loose nails may fall between roof sheathing cracks.

  • Rain, Rain…

If the forecast shows a 20+% chance of rain, we will need to reschedule. We do our best to keep project dates, but please understand we cannot risk exposing your property to the elements & try to err on the side of caution

  • It’s completely up to you!

You're more than welcome to be home. But, as long as we have a working phone number for you, there is no reason to change plans to ensure you'll be home.

If you do plan on staying, it's important to note that the noise level will be loud during the installation.

Children's nap times, inside pets, or conference phone calls may be impacted by the noise levels.

  • While there isn't a one-size-fits-all answer, the majority of homes are completed in 1 to 2 days.

If your home has wood shakes, requires a re-deck, or has multiple layers, additional time may be needed.

Weather also plays a big factor.

Ahead of your project, we will communicate how long we anticipate the roof replacement to take.

  • When our supplier delivers the roofing materials, they bring a boom or conveyer truck and unload the majority of materials directly on your roof. There will be a few components left on the side of your house/driveway.

If for some reason our supplier is unable to deliver materials on the roof (accessibility, distance, roof pitch, etc.) they will be "ground dropped" and unloaded on the driveway/ground.

But we will coordinate the location with you if this happens

What to Expect During Your Project

Before the Project

Prior to your project, we will coordinate material delivery with you. Most times this happens the day before or the day of your roof installation.

The Morning

Our team will arrive between 7:00 am – 8:00 am on the day of your project with a dump trailer.

The Start

We will start the day by laying roofing-specific tarps around your yard. This important step will catch the debris as we strip the existing roof.

The Work Day

1

The existing roof system will be removed and disposed of in the dump trailer or on the ground tarps.

2

After the shingles are removed, we will inspect the roof deck. Any damaged sheathing will need to be replaced at this time.

3

Now we install your new roofing system! This includes shingles and all local code/manufacture required accessories.

4

After the roof is completed, we will ensure debris that didn't land in the dumpster is cleaned up. We run our heavy-duty, rolling magnet around the yard to grab any loose nails.

And we’re done!

After your roof is complete and clean-up is done, we do a final walk around and quality inspection to ensure everything meets our strict standards. Photos are taken and stored in our system.
